Marshalltown Art Festival History
Since 1955, an art fair has been held almost every year by the Central Iowa Art Association (CIAA). In 2009, the CIAA decided it could no longer sponsor the fair on its own so the Arts & Culture Alliance volunteered to be the sponsoring organization. The Alliance is happy to maintain the tradition of this excellent event in Marshalltown. The annual Festival, previously known as the Linn Creek Arts Festival, now rebranded as the Marshalltown Art Festival, features over sixty juried artists, performing arts, live music and local entertainers, various artistic youth activities for all ages, exhibits by local arts and culture organizations, a wide variety of food vendors, a craft beer tent, and a one of a kind raffle prize. In 2017, over 3,500 individuals, local and statewide, attended the annual event. We are thrilled to roll out the newly rebranded Festival, the Marshalltown Art Festival (MAF), as well as move the Festival to the heart of the community, into Downtown Marshalltown on the Courthouse square.
