Where's the Marshalltown Art Festival located?
For the first year, it’s located in Downtown Marshalltown, Center St. to 2nd Ave, around the Courthouse.
Where should we park?
There is free parking all around downtown, with public lots to the west of Center on Church Street, and street parking around the festival area.
Can we bring pets?
We love pets, but please leave your pets at home. Due to the heat and number of people, your pet will thank you for not taking them into the crowd! City regulations do allow for service dogs to be admitted to the site. No pets in artist tents, please!
What's there to eat?
We will have a food vendor area with the follow food trucks and tents available:
- Bubba’s Burnt Ends – BBQ (food truck)
- Smiles and Gyros – Greek (food truck)
- Macubana – Belgian/Brazilian (food truck)
- Sweet Treats – Ice Cream (food truck)
- St. Mary’s Catholic – Authentic Made Fresh Mexican
- Lioness – Pies
- Lions – Sweet Corn / Blizzards
There are also numerous restaurants up and down Main Street for your eating pleasure. Alcoholic beverages will be sold at the Festival to patrons 21 years old and older. A valid ID must be presented at time of purchase. Beverages can be carried on Festival grounds but must be disposed of before leaving.
Are credit cards accepted?
Most of the artists and vendors do, but bring cash to be on the safe side.
What are the hours of MAF?
10 a.m. – 5 p.m., but there’s yoga at the Glick-Sower house at 8 a.m.!
Is there a fee to get in?
No, this Festival and all entertainment is free to the public!
What about alcohol?
All alcoholic beverages sold at the Festival are for patrons 21-years and older and will be given a bright green colored wrist band. Valid identification is required to purchase alcoholic beverages and only those with a wrist band will be allowed to enter the enclosed tent to purchase beverages or taste beverages. Alcoholic beverages purchased on-site must remain within Festival barriers. No outside alcoholic beverages or containers are permitted. Patrons found in violation will be asked to dispose of the outside beverage. No Festival beverages are allowed outside of the Festival site. Alcohol sales will end immediately at 5 p.m.
Should I bring my whole family?
There are numerous activities all around the Courthouse North Lawn. Children can participate in sidewalk chalk drawing, spin art, a balloon artist, face paint, and spinning yarn.
Where are the bathrooms?
They’re located at the southwest side of the Courthouse.
What if it rains?
The show must go on! The Festival will continue rain or shine. Pack an umbrella or poncho just in case.
